Kara Claudette Wenger

Kara is an Eldercare Consultant and Senior Living Placement Advisor with a deep passion for senior and patient advocacy. She specializes in helping families identify the best care solutions for their loved ones. Through her extensive background in senior living and healthcare, she has the expertise to provide you with thorough, educated care options.

Kara’s past experience includes working as a director in assisted living/ memory care, as a hospital patient assessment advisor & admissions in post-acute rehabilitation, and a facilitator of both complex care management and in-home caregiving. Her decade in surgical sales provided knowledge of how to work with physicians and their offices effectively. 

Through collaborating with senior living directors and discharge planners to make a smooth transition, Kara walks with patients and families throughout their journey. This reduces trips back to the hospital and prevents last minute stressful and chaotic decisions that often lead to less than optimal results.

Kara’s experience of a loved one who was suddenly placed on a transplant list, requiring years of advocacy, sparked her desire to go into this much needed profession. She learned first-hand how the huge amount of time sensitive information can fall through the cracks in our overloaded healthcare system. Kara believes that every senior and patient needs an advocate in order to receive the best care and make sound decisions.

SENIOR CARE AUTHORITY COMPANY HISTORY

Senior Care Authority® was founded in 2009 by Frank and Michele Samson of Sonoma, California. They opened a local placement agency and learned everything there was to know about finding the right care situation for an older adult needing help with activities of daily living. They came to the Senior Care space with successful business development skills in their past as well as personal family experience finding care solutions. The business took off, primarily due to their diligence, compassion, and commitment to helping families.

​In 2014, the model was franchised and Senior Care Authority® is now a national company with offices throughout the US and Canada. As part of their expansion, they partnered with an eldercare consulting practice who brought another set of senior care services and skills to the company, a great differentiator for Senior Care Authority.
